Takayamado (rice woven small pattern)
"A concept shop featuring Yoneori and self-roasted coffee, themed 'Yoneori in the life' from the textile manufacturer in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture."
Yonezawa-ori is a general term for textiles produced in Yonezawa City. It began in the mid-Edo period when the 9th feudal lord, Uesugi Yozan, initiated fiscal reforms by having the samurai weave the threads that were being produced in Yonezawa into textiles, thus developing it into a high-value-added industry.
Using pre-dyed fine yarn, it is characterized by a high-density woven pattern and is now recognized as a high-end brand fabric, widely known by the name "Yoneori."
The brand "Yoneori Komon" from Takayama-do combines traditional Komon patterns and colors from Japan, offering items that harmonize with modern lifestyles, primarily focusing on Japanese miscellaneous goods and accessories. Utilizing the technique of patterned weaving, which is a characteristic of Yonezawa weaving, we have created cute fabrics and accessories with a contemporary design.
