Yozando
This is a concept shop for rice weaving and home-roasted coffee, based on the theme of "Yoneori in the life," originating from a weaving factory in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture.
Yonezawa Ori is the general term for textiles produced in Yonezawa city. It began in the mid-Edo period, when the ninth feudal lord, Uesugi Yozan, had samurai weave fabric using thread produced in Yonezawa at the time as part of financial reforms, developing it into a high-added-value industry.
It is made using fine yarn that has been pre-dyed and features a high-density patterned weave, and is now widely used as a woven fabric for high-end brands.
