Lake Shirakawa is located in the northeastern part of Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture. In spring, under the lush mountains, various colors of fresh green are reflected on the surface of the lake.
When snowmelt water flows into it, a submerged forest appears on Lake Shirakawa for only a month until it is released for rice planting.
